The wonderful cats on this page will need someone very special to offer them not only a loving forever home, but the extra care they need due to a disability, disease, or medical condition they might have.

Dorothy

Dorothy is an elegant, distinctive, approximately 12-year-old gray Domestic Shorthair cat.

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption in now!

Dorothy is a chatterbox and will let you know what she’s thinking.  She takes a little while to warm up to new people, but then becomes quite affectionate. She enjoys playing with string toys, birdgewatching, long walks on the beach, gossip, and purring! She is not thrilled with other cats, but just hisses and ignores them.

Dorothy is micro-chipped, current on vaccinations, and spayed. She has a couple of health conditions. She has a grade 3 heart murmur, so she takes blood pressure medicine once a day (she’s happy to swallow it in cheese) and baby aspirin. Also, she does best on dry food for “sensitive stomachs.” She has no teeth, but easily eats dry food.

Tinsel

Tinsel is a beautiful 4 year old female calico Domestic Shorthair cat.

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now.

Tinsel came to us in December 2015 after being found as a young kitten. She was covered with snow. On cleaning her it was discovered she had some issues with her back legs. Diagnosed with nerve damage. Due to this she had trouble eliminating entirely which leads to UTI’s. She can climb steps, run and is otherwise healthy. Her only drawback is she doesn’t use the litter box. She is very loving and very thankful upon getting her morning canned food. Loves laser pointers and head scratches. A potential adopt or would be ideal to have all hardwood or ceramic floors with throw rugs. Tinsel enjoys playing, napping, snacking, kneading the dough and making the biscuits, and good long talks. She is micro-chipped, spayed, and current on vaccinations.

Squeak

Squeak is a beautiful 3 year old female grey and apricot dilute Domestic Shorthair cat.

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now!

Squeak is a very endearing and loving cat, who loves to talk; that’s how she got her name! She loves to eat, as you can see by how plump she is. Even though she’s a big girl, she still likes to play. She loves to be brushed, but must be allowed to lick your hand at the same time. Squeak does have two medical conditions being Grade 4 heart murmur, and chronic rhinitis. She is doing well with her heart murmur, but may have a shortened life due to it. She does have chronic rhinitis which can make it hard for her to breath though her nose. She is currently on a few medications which she will need to remain on. She gets along well with other cats! Squeak is micro-chipped, spayed, and current on all vaccinations.

Poppyseed

Poppyseed is an adorable 8 month old female brown tabby Domestic Shorthair cat.

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now!

Poppyseed is a sweet, affectionate and playful kitten. She’s a little shy and reserved in a new environment, but is a lovely, sweet little lady. She gets along with, and plays with another young cat she just met in foster care, and enjoys playing with toys too.
Poppyseed is a special needs kitty, in that she has a defective aortic valve. Her doctor wants to start her on heart medication in a couple of months after she matures a little bit more. This condition puts her at risk for a blood clot so she will probably also be on a low dose of baby aspirin. Because of her condition, she might have a shorter lifespan, however with medication, good care & low stress she could live many years. She is micro-chipped, spayed, and current on vaccinations.

Rhema

Rhema is a gorgeous 9 year old female grey and apricot dilute Tortoiseshell Domestic Shorthair cat.

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now!

Rhema is an incredible cat that is very sensitive. She is a very loving and chatty cat, who will come straight to your lap for petting and a nap. She’d be an excellent Netflix buddy. She is looking for a quiet, peaceful home, where she can enjoy long naps on a bed or couch. She loves spending time with calm people, who can appreciate her delicate approach to life. She is soft, sweet and loving. She loves to be rubbed under her chin.

Rhema had bad experiences with small children and more aggressive cats in the past. This experience made her scared of people, noises and confusion. Sometimes she will hiss or swat at you if she feels very cornered, but even then, she tries to be gentle and prefers flight to fight. If she’s scared, her whole little body just trembles. However, if given space and time, she will come out of her shell and become your best friend. She has made huge progress, both with time and with the help of medication (Prozac), which she might eventually be able to discontinue once she is adjusted to her environment. She has proven to be tolerant of other cats and dogs once she has a slow, good introduction period where she can feel safe and if needed, retreat to a space of her own. So she might do well with another calm cat or dog. She is micro-chipped, spayed, and current on vaccinations.

Jill

Jill is a beautiful 2 year old brown tabby Domestic Short hair cat with a natural Manx half-tail!

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now!

Jill is a beautiful girl with striking orange eyes. She is a total love bug once she comes out of her shell, purrs a lot, and is very affectionate. She is also playful, and gets along with other cats. She is missing half of her tail due to an injury she sustained, possibly by a car.  The accident also left her with a broken pelvis.  With much rest, her pelvis has healed but she has a narrowing in her pelvic canal that causes her to get constipated easily.  This is remedied with a canned food diet and a powdered laxative mixed in her food.  She has no problems playing or jumping and frequently jumps on the cat tree at her foster home.  Her little half tail is adorable too! She would make a nice addition to any quiet home where her diet could be managed closely.  She is micro-chipped, spayed, and current on all vaccinations.

Gere

Gere is a handsome 5 year old male black and white tuxedo domestic shorthair cat.

He is currently in foster care but is available for adoption now!

Gere’s hobbies include playing, napping, talking, treats, purring, and carpet covered cat trees. He loves to spend time near you, and enjoys a little head scratching, but isn’t exactly a cuddly cat. Gere does not handle change well, initially. He might have had a bad experience early in life, because he does deal with some insecurity when faced with change. Initially in a new environment, he is very likely to hiss, growl or bat at you, only because he is very scared. In a calm, patient home with a calm, patient and loving person, he becomes a wonderful cat. Gere gets along best with women, and tends to be a bit more fearful and on edge with men. He has been in our foster care program for over a year because we wanted to make sure he can adjust well – His foster mom says he’s been wonderful at her house since he is comfortable with everything. Because of his initial behavior though, we recommend that he does not live with small children, both for that reason, and because he needs a quiet environment. He needs to be an indoor only cat. He gets along with some other cats (cats who do not have a very dominant personality), and dogs. He is microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Vanna

Vanna is a beautiful 1 and a half year old female grey and white Domestic Shorthair cat.

She is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now!

Vanna is a sweet, mellow but playful kitten who gets along with other cats, and is affectionate. This sweet little lady will make an excellent companion. She has chronic feline herpes virus, which means she often has weepy eyes, which are usually worse when she is under stress. Sprinkling an inexpensive immune boosting powder on her food, and wiping her eyes on occasion help a lot. It does not affect her quality of life much. She is also micro-chipped, spayed, and current on all vaccinations.

Ferdinand

Ferdinand is a handsome 1 year old male white and orange Domestic Shorthair cat.

He is currently in foster care, and is available for adoption now!

Ferdinand is a loving, affectionate young cat. He enjoys playing, treats, and being pet. He is in our special needs cat section because he suffers from anxiety which makes him very shy when he’s just getting to know a new situation and new people. This means he has a tendency to hide at first, and needs patience and time to come out of his shell. Once he does, he is very affectionate. A quiet home would be best for him. He is also micro-chipped, neutered, and current on all vaccinations.
